2021 Midseason Schedule: CBS

UPDATED WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 27

Scheduling news has been trickling out piecemeal the past few months, and now CBS has "finalized" its spring 2021 plans.

Monday

8:00 - The Neighborhood
8:30 - Bob Abishola
9:00 - All Rise
10:00- Bull

With COVID still affecting shooting and scheduling, The Neighborhood was announced as an 18-episode season and Bull as 16 episodes. They return January 4, along with the rest of the lineup, after airing briefly this fall.

Tuesday

8:00 - NCIS
9:00 - FBI
10:00 - FBI: Most Wanted

The Tuesday lineup only got 3 episodes on air in the fall, and it returns on January 19. (NCIS was confirmed as shooting 16 episodes this season, with the others unconfirmed.)

Wednesday

8:00 - Tough as Nails (Beginning February 10)
9:00 - SEAL Team
10:00 - SWAT

The fall holdovers, SEAL Team (confirmed for 16 episodes this season) and SWAT, return on January 13. They are joined by the second season of Tough as Nails, the summer series hosted by Phil Keoghan.

On a sad note for me and other Survivor fans, there are still no plans to resume filming on the next season, so it looks like the 2020-21 television season will be the first without any Survivor in two decades.

Thursday

8:00 - Young Sheldon
8:30 - B Positive
9:00 - Mom
9:30 - The Unicorn
9:30 - United States of Al (NEW - Premieres April 1)
10:00 - Clarice (NEW - Premieres February 11)

B Positive, the only new show CBS premiered this fall, got a back order for additional episodes, bringing its total to 18 for the season. It's performing relatively well in the comedy lineup, all of which returns on January 7. (Episode orders are unconfirmed for Young Sheldon and Mom, but The Unicorn will produce 13 this season; when United States of Al joins in April, it will be a four-series Chuck Lorre lineup on Thursdays.)

The comedies are joined by Clarice, the long-awaited Silence of the Lambs sequel/spin-off series in February, after the first season of Star Trek: Discovery finishes up (just in time for folks to watch the next two seasons on CBS All Access).

Friday

8:00 - MacGyver
9:00 - Magnum PI
10:00 - Blue Bloods

The Friday series also only squeezed out 3 episodes in the fall, all in December. They return on January 8. (MacGyver's episode order in unconfirmed, while Magnum and Blue Bloods will each produce 16 episodes this season.)

Sunday

8:00 - NCIS: Los Angeles
8:00 - The Equalizer (NEW - Beginning February 14)
9:00 - NCIS: New Orleans
9:00 - NCIS: Los Angeles (New Timeslot - Beginning February 14)
10:00 - NCIS: New Orleans (New Timeslot - Beginning February 14)

On January 3, the fall lineup returns for 3 weeks, goes on a brief hiatus, and returns on February 14 with the new Queen Latifah drama The Equalizer. The reboot of the 1980s series (and subsequent Denzel Washington film) gets the post-Super Bowl timeslot, airing its pilot on February 7 after the big game.

Only the second season of Evil remains unscheduled as of January 27.
