2021 Midseason Schedule: The CW

UPDATED WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 24

The CW announced a preliminary 2021 midseason schedule over the summer, and they're mostly sticking to it.

Monday

8:00 - All American (Beginning January 18)
9:00 - Black Lightning (Beginning February 8)
9:00 - The Republic of Sarah (NEW - Premieres June 14)

A companion for the first few weeks of All American's third season is TBD, but Black Lightning rejoins the lineup first of all the superhero shows in early February.

UPDATE: New series The Republic of Sarah joins the lineup in summer, replacing Black Lightning, which is ending after four seasons this year.

Tuesday

8:00 - Two Sentence Horror Stories (New Timeslot - Beginning January 12)
8:00 - The Flash (Beginning March 2)
9:00 - Trickster (U.S. Premiere - Beginning January 12)
9:00 - Superman & Lois (NEW - Premieres February 23)

The first season of Two Sentence Horror Stories aired way back in August 2019, and the second season was supposed to air this fall. It'll actually debut in January and February while The Flash completes some post-production effects. While the same is needed for the latest addition to the Arrowverse, Superman & Lois, the CW has acquired the CBC drama (currently airing in Canada) Trickster, a six-episode drama about an indigenous teen drug dealer who suddenly becomes aware of magical events around him.

Wednesday

8:00 - Riverdale (Beginning January 20)
8:00 - Kung Fu (NEW - Premieres April 7)
9:00 - Nancy Drew (Beginning January 20)
9:00 - In the Dark (New Timeslot - Beginning June 9)

The Wednesday line-up returns in tact in January.

UPDATE: Riverdale goes on a bit of a hiatus after airing only about half of its season order, vacating its timeslot to make way for the Kung Fu reboot. Nancy Drew, however, continues airing Wednesdays at 9:00. In the Dark then returns for season three in June on a new night.

Thursday

8:00 - Walker (NEW - Beginning January 21)
9:00 - Legacies (Beginning January 21)

Walker becomes the first new CW series to debut in the 2020-2021 season when it joins Legacies in late January.

Friday

8:00 - Whose Line Is It Anyway? (Beginning January 8)
8:00 - Charmed (New Timeslot - Beginning May 7)
9:00 - Penn & Teller: Fool Us (Beginning January 8)
9:00 - Dynasty (Beginning May 7)

A new episode of Whose Line... leads into encores at 8:30, then is followed by Penn & Teller. These shows were initially set for Mondays this fall but were held and will now anchor Fridays.

UPDATE: Charmed relocates to its former Friday night timeslot and is once again paired with Dynasty on May 7.

Sunday

8:00 - Batwoman (Beginning January 17)
8:00 - DC's Legends of Tomorrow (New Timeslot - Beginning May 2)
9:00 - Charmed (New Timeslot - Beginning January 24)

The new season of Batwoman, featuring new lead Javicia Leslie, premieres January 17, and the third season of Charmed follows a week later.

UPDATE: Batwoman moves back an hour and gets paired with the new season of Legends, which migrates to Sundays for the first itme.

Still to be announced are return dates of Roswell, New Mexico, and Supergirl, which was recently announced to be ending after this upcoming sixth season, as well as further plans for Riverdale's remaining fifth season episodes.
