Midseason Schedule: The CW

UPDATED FEBRUARY 11 - Monday & Tuesday Nights

Mark Pedowitz continues to make big moves as the CW head, choosing to bench low-rated Reign and moving veteran The Vampire Diaries and companion/spin-off The Originals to a whole new night. Click through to find out when.

Monday

8:00 - Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (Beginning January 25)
8:00 - Reign (New Timeslot - Beginning April 25)
9:00 - Jane the Virgin (Beginning January 25)

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which is riding high off its recent Golden Globe and Critics' Choice Awards wins for star and creator Rachel Bloom, will end its freshman run on April 18. Reign moves from Fridays to lead off Monday nights the following week; it has 8 episodes remaining in its season.

Tuesday

8:00 - The Flash (Beginning January 19)
9:00 - iZombie (Beginning January 12)
9:00 - Containment (NEW - Beginning April 19)

iZombie will end its second season on April 12 with back-to-back new episodes before the new Julie Plec apocalypse drama Containment, now being billed as a "limited series," premieres on April 19.

Wednesday

8:00 - Arrow (Beginning January 20)
9:00 - Supernatural (Beginning January 20)

Schedule remains unchanged.

Thursday

8:00 - DC's Legends of Tomorrow (NEW - Beginning January 21)
9:00 - The 100 (New Timeslot - Beginning January 21)

The CW premieres the third show in its shared DC Comics universe with Legends of Tomorrow, a spin-off of both Arrow and The Flash, which will be set up in a crossover event on the parent shows' December 1 and 2 airings. Legends leads into the third season of The 100, which has previously aired behind Arrow.

Friday

8:00 - The Vampire Diaries (New Timeslot - Beginning January 29)
9:00 - The Originals (New Timeslot - Beginning January 29)

In a bold scheduling move, both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals shift to Fridays. While both shows are lower-rated than they once were, they are far from the bottom of The CW's heap. So perhaps this will help the network to rebuild Friday nights, where scripted programming has struggled mightily since Smallville went off the air many years ago. Reign vacates the schedule after its winter finale on January 22.

Furthermore, The CW announced that Beauty and the Beast will return for its fourth and final season on Thursday, June 2 at 9:00.
